Thomas Jason Collene
President

Jason Collene started Collene Concrete, Inc., in 1999 after working in concrete all of his life. His training began as a teenager working for his uncles in the concrete business. These family ties played an extensive role in preparing Jason to excel in concrete construction. Then he went on to join the Cement Finishers Union and worked in commercial concrete throughout Kansas City for three years. Currently, Jason oversees all aspects of the corporation including: Operations, Administration, and Estimating.

Jason attended Johnson County Community College studying Civil Engineering and Construction Management. He and his wife Anna have three children and are active in their children’s school and their church.

Matthew Collene
Director of Field Operations

Matthew Collene joined Collene Concrete, Inc., in 2003. Matthew oversees all aspects of Field Operations ranging from coordination with General Contractors, Owners, and Subcontractors, to scheduling all field personnel.

Matthew draws his experience from many years of commercial construction and tenant finish projects and his six-year affiliation with the Carpenter’s Union.

Matthew graduated from Johnson County Community College with an Associates Degree in AutoCAD and 2 years of Architectural School. He and his wife Misty have three children and are active in their children’s school and his church.

Carter Hinkle
Senior Estimator

Carter Hinkle joined Collene Concrete, Inc, in early 2007. Carter is responsible for coordinating the bidding process.

Before joining Collene, Carter provided managerial responsibilities for private contractors on various DoD and CoE projects throughout the Midwest and Northwest for twenty years. Carter has experience bidding projects up to 21 million that include tenant finish, historical restoration, new construction, PEBs, airbases, shipyard, and river reconstruction.

Carter graduated from Kansas State University with a BA in Interior Architecture. He and his wife, Angela, have two children and are active in their children’s education and their church.

Bill Marion
Senior Project Manager in Field Safety

Bill Marion, Senior Project Manager, joined Collene Concrete, Inc. in 2002 as an Estimator / Project Manager. Bill is a third-generation concrete finisher with over 30 years experience in concrete construction.

Bill’s experience includes; Estimating, Project Management, Finishing, and Carpentry. Bill earned his BA in Business from the University of Iowa and served in the United States Army for three years. He is an ACI (American Concrete Institute) Flatwork Finisher.

Bill enjoys woodworking and running marathons.

B. Jack Ewan
Superintendent

Jack Ewan joined Collene Concrete, Inc. in 2006. Jack has over twenty-eight years experience in the construction industry with twenty-six years managing concrete-specific projects.

Jack is a second-generation construction worker. Jack has performed all aspects of the construction industry, including project management for M.A.C. Corp., where he met Jason Collene on his first commercial project. Jack started his own construction company in 1999. Jack and Jason’s relationship evolved over the next few years and Jack’s expertise led him to become part of our team.

Jack leads by example providing provides great leadership to his crew and consistently manages the project flow resulting in projects being on time and on budget.

Jack and his wife, Lisa, have one daughter who attends college.

John Salmons
Superintendent

John joined Collene Concrete, Inc. in 2007. John has over fifteen years experience in the construction industry. John provides field management to our larger projects.

John’s experience spans across many aspects of construction; including general contracting, residential construction, and concrete. His experience includes; estimating, project management, sales, carpentry, and structural concrete. John provides excellent leadership to his crews and his exceptional knowledge of the construction industry allows Collene Concrete to provide incomparable service to our clients.

John served his country during the Persian Gulf War as a Sergeant / E-5 in the U.S. Army staffing a Bradley Fighting Vehicle as a Gunner. John and his wife, Daphne, have three sons. They enjoy fishing and camping.

Jeff Rollings
Assistant Director Field Operations

Jeff Rollings, Field Foreman, joined Collene Concrete, Inc. in 2000 as a finisher. Jeff’s experience and attention to detail provided him an opportunity to accept additional responsibilities and was promoted to Foreman.

Jeff has over 20 years experience in the concrete construction industry. His experience includes carpentry, layout of forms, steel and tension cables, sandblasting, finisher, and operator. Jeff’s expertise allows him to provide great leadership to his crew and consistently manage the project flow resulting in projects being on time and on budget.
